Theremay be a fuelpump relay in one of the underhood fuseboxes. You can try some searches for 1988 F150 fusebox diagrams to find the location of the relay. The reset of the inertia sensor (safety switch) was a good try but if the fuel pump relay is bad, there will be nothing to reset because there will be no power.
Step2 - Check the fuel pump fuse/relay. In the engine bay you will see a fuse/relay box to the right of the battery. Remove the box lid and read the diagram on the bottom side. Locate the E.F.I. fuse. Visually inspect the fuse for an unbroken connection.
